Helen Peters - Shakespeare's England
Helen Peters joined Shakespeare’s England as Chief Executive in December 2015, following a career spanning 30 years in Travel & Tourism. Starting with Horizon Holidays, in Broad Street, Birmingham in the early 1980, having obtained a BA hons degree in English from Manchester University, Helen went on to work for many of the key outbound travel companies including Intasun, Neilson Leisure Group and Thomas Cook. She moved into cruising joining Crystal Cruises in 2003 followed by 5 years as National Accounts Manager with Silversea.
In 2008 Helen joined Value Retail Ltd as Tourism Director for Bicester Village in Oxfordshire promoting Bicester Village as the Designer Outlet centre in the UK , specifically to the Chinese, SE Asian and Middle Eastern Markets.
Helen currently lives in Worcestershire with her husband John. She has 2 children, Guy who is an officer with the Royal Tank Regiment and Toni an Event Manager based in London. She also has a dog they rescued from Crete called Spartacus.
Paul Angus - Banbury Sound
Paul Angus is Managing Director of Banbury Sound, Touch FM's sister station. Formerly Sales and Marketing Director of GWR Group and Chief Executive at West Country Broadcasting, Paul sits on the Board of the Cherwell Local Strategic Partnership, the Advisory Board of Activate Learning in Banbury and Bicester and is an Honorary Commander of USAF's 422 Squadron, based at RAF Croughton. In his spare time he loves countryside walks and exercising his motorbike!

Mark Chambers is the Group Managing Director - a privately
owned group of nine luxury hotels, restaurants & spas situated across five counties.
Since joining the company in 2005, Mark has led the collection through seven key acquisitions and has been responsible for repositioning each business and establishing the group as one of the UK’s leading luxury boutique hotel companies. In September 2014 Eden Hotel Collection were awarded ‘AA Small Hotel Group of the Year 2014-15’, a prestigious industry accolade, setting the group apart from others in their set.
The group is currently expanding its existing portfolio of hotels through capital expenditure projects in excess of £10 million, as well as acquiring further sites. A major part of the 2017 strategy is the development of the Elan Spa brand, most significantly with a new spa build launched April 2017 at Mallory Court. His involvement in various industry organisations spans a number of roles as Chairman of
Meeting Industry Association, Non-Executive Director for Pride of Britain Hotels, NonExecutive Director & Immediate Past Vice-Chair of Shakespeare’s England. He was made a Master Innholder in 2014, joining a well-respected and prestigious force within the hotel industry. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Freeman of the City of London.
Laura McMillan - Coventry City of Culture
Laura McMillan is Manager of the Coventry City of Culture Trust, the independent company set up to run Coventry’s bid to be UK City of Culture in 2021. Laura’s previous experience includes working in the Marketing department of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Sales and Marketing department of Warwick Castle.

Déirdre has over 25 years’ experience of Inward Investment, economic development and business development in Coventry and the region. She has successfully coordinated the Coventry & Warwickshire presence at the world-renowned international commercial property show MIPIM – for the last 16 years - helping to bring millions of pounds worth of investment and a significant number of jobs to the city/region.
Her key skill is in establishing private sector partnerships to fund vital projects to promote the area as a key destination for investment, working alongside the private sector to secure sponsorship to promote the city and region as a location for investment, business, culture and tourism. Déirdre has worked closely with many major investors in the city and continues to develop relationships to ensure the city and its stakeholders are promoted nationally and internationally.
She currently leads the team responsible for business relationships and tourism and so has a unique understanding of what makes the city tick and what our visitors to the area want to see and do.
